Third Floor

All of the prostitutes maintain their own room on the third floor. Each room is individual, though you can expect typical furnishings such as a bed and a dresser. The women are not allowed to bring any men to this floor, much less their bedroom. Consequently, this means any married prostitutes do not live in the House.
Private Lounge
Tanus's Room The rooms with the detailing belong to Tanus. Actually, the room that opens out to the hallway is designed to fool the intruder into believing he has found Aidan Sloan's bedroom. It is conspicously clean, and appears to have never been lived in. A locked desk lies on the right side of the room and contains the original legal documents for the purchase and ownership of the House, all under Aidan's name. A small dry bar hides behind the door. The left side of the room is dominated by a large four-poster bed. To the right of the bed lies a small night stand with some gold coins and a water clock. A large dresser lies on the opposite wall of the bed, and contains rich garments suitable for a lord. In the corner is a small triangular armoire, locked, that holds two high quality long swords. Next to the bed is a small locked chest that holds a full suit of chain mail and a shield. The chest is trapped, and the unwary thief will be hit by a small needle coated with id moss poison (Touch trigger, no reset, Search/Disable 25, +10 ranged, Fortitude 14, 1d4 Int initial, 2d6 Int secondary). In the corner, marked by a "S" on the layout, is a secret sliding panel (Search 30). It leads to Tanus's true quarters. Tanus takes his privacy pretty seriously, as he's gained numerous ennemies. Therefore his entire suite is protected by a spell enhanced forbiddance spell (Will 26), except for two 5x5 regions; one near his bed and the other on the fourth floor. Additionally, every day Tanus casts Mordenkainen's private sanctum to protect against scrying and divinations. All spells and magical traps are cast at 14th caster level, unless indicated otherwise. Thanks to spell-storing devices, Tanus has been able to cast several greater glyphs of warding with arcane spell effects. As a general rule, the traps in Tanus' abode attempt to stop or imprison the unwary intruder, and are not usually lethal. Also of note is Tanus' simulacrum, which he has named Aidan. The simulacrum always stays inside of the residence, and is a Ftr2/Wiz6. The simulacrum has orders to restrain and imprison any foes. Towards that goal, the simulacrum has memorized those spells that would aid him in that endeavor, such as hold person and charm person.
Living Room and Kitchen
Library Inside the desk are blank sheets of paper, several exotic quills, and ink made from various beasts. Most of the books cover research on alteration and conjuration spells. However, there are also several books on the religion of Shar, the social structure of beholders, the anatomy of chimera and hydras and their variants, the ecology of rust monsters and dark nagas, a treatise on dragons and dragon-kin, and perhaps Tanus's most prized possession: the Book of Sharess.
The Book of Sharess The Book of Sharess appears to be placed on a silver stand near the far wall of the library. Up to once a day, anyone that removes this book from the stand is subject to a fear spell (Will 22, caster level 11). Moreover, a magical leather bookmark lies in this book. Up to once a day, any intruder approaching within 12 feet of the book will be subject to a wall of force (caster level 11), centered on them (no save) in a 11' radius hemisphere (likely including the desk). This magical item can sense invisible creatures, but not ethereal creatures. The wall of force lasts for 11 minutes. The book on the stand is actually a copy of the real book. However, it has a spell enhanced explosive rune (Search/Disable 28, 6d6 fire damage, no save) cast on the lock of the book. In addition, a greater glyph of warding (Search/Disable DC 31) that inflicts 7d8 points of Sonic damage (Reflex 24 for half) is drawn on the cover, though it is masked by a secret page spell. The real book is hidden behind the false paneling of the rear wall (Search 30). However, in order to even see the false paneling the bookshelf must first be moved. There, in a small alcove lined with lead, sits a book on top of a silver tray. The book is again a copy of the real Book of Sharess. The book is not magical, but the tray is. However it's magical aura is concealed by the strong magic of the wall of force, fear, glyph of warding, and explosive runes, such that it cannot be noticed using detect magic unless removed from the library. The tray and book are also protected by a needle trap, the needles covered with huge scorpion poision, which is triggered if anyone attempts to remove either object (Touch trigger, no reset, Search/Disable 30, +20 ranged, Fortitude 26, 1d8 Str initial, 1d8 Str secondary). The bottom of the magical tray reveals the opening of a rope trick, similar to the spell of the same name. The Book of Sharess is inside, but is 10' off to the side, such that you must actually climb inside to retrieve the book. The trick is that the opening is only 8" by 10". Moreover, sequester has been cast on the book, making it invisible and undetectable to divination. The Book of Sharess is wrapped in a magical leather sleeve. Those that Tanus attunes to the magical leather sleeve have nothing to fear. Otherwise, up to once a day, those that touch or displace the leather sleeve will be subject to a polymorph other (Fortitude 22, caster level 11) spell which will transform them into a slug. Finally, a magical silk knot holds the sleeve around the Book of Sharess. To untie it requires a Strength DC of 30. But worse yet, up to once a day, anyone touching it or displacing it is the subject of a flesh to stone (Fortitude 24, caster level 11) spell.
