Sikitha of House Vae (follower)
From APL 6 of "Good Things Come in Small Packages"

Sikitha was once a devotee of Lolth, a proud servant of the Spider-Queen Goddess who on occasion would choose Sikitha to lead her demonic servants. However, it is said that those who climb too high have that much further to fall, and Sikitha has fallen very far indeed from the graces of Lolth. Her faith and position now irreparably shattered; she is like a lost lamb, searching for guidance.

Raised as a favored daughter of House Vae, Sikitha was trained at an early age to be a cleric of Lolth. Indoctrinated into worship of the Spider-Queen, she took to her faith with enthusiasm and energy, never questioning. Her devotion served her well, and she was an apt student of treachery, trickery, and manipulation -- it could be said that she never failed her studies. Her only true loyalty was to her goddess, and in turn she basked in her glory.

Contacted by Lolth soon after the events in Sterich (CORS3-01 Assault on the Vault), she was sworn to vengeance against the intruders in that assault. Guided by her faith, she gathered a deadly contingent of drow and monstrous spiders and raided a surface village, took prisoners, and then waited in ambush for the surface dwellers who were foretold to pursue them. As promised, a group of intrepid adventurers caught up with them, and a short but decisive battle ensued.

But the drow were not victorious, and to add insult to injury Sikitha was captured. Skye was among the adventurers, and in fact it was he who had given directions to capture her. Isolated and defeated, and fed mysterious potions by Skye, she was lost and confused by these new events. Why had Lolth led her here, with events unfolding exactly as had been foretold, only to face defeat? She was well prepared and had made no mistakes, but she had been setup for failure. To send her here was pointless, fruitless, madness, and... treacherous.

In that moment, her world came tumbling down. Following only one path from as early as she could recollect, she had never veered nor strayed. She had not once failed her deity, and yet she had been betrayed. Now, considering for the first time her role and life outside of Lolth's influence, she was like a new born babe all over again.

Grasping for meaning, for guidance, she fell upon Skye's face, and was taken in by his fierce gaze. It was clear this elf had a purpose, knew his place in the world, and had ventured far and no doubt seen much. Clinging to him and his every word, desperately needing someone to lead her and also comfort her, she fell for him.

Skye's intention, upon first seeing drow for himself, was to validate what he had been taught in Celene. The drow were talked about only in whispers, and with harsh aspersions, never to be trafficked with. They had fallen from Corellon's light a long time ago, and had been forsaken. This was an opportunity to see whether there was still hope for the drow, to bring them back into the light.

Realizing that it would take drastic action to even have an opportunity to converse reasonably with a dark elf, Skye came upon the idea of using Potions of Love. These magical potions, once imbibed by someone, cause them to fall in love with the next person they see. It took 11 potions of love before the spell resistance and willpower of Sikitha were finally overcome, and she succumbed to the potion's effects, charmed by Skye's blue eyes. He returned her warm regards, shared her embrace, and explained to her how the treachery, trickery, and manipulation that she had been brought up with were ultimately self-defeating.

After a while, the magical compulsion effect wore off, but her adoration for Skye remained, and so did his words (Redemption rules, from Books of Exalted Deeds). In time, even the amorous effect would have worn away eventually (with 3.5 conversion), had Skye not genuinely returned her feelings. In fact, the time and effort that Skye spent helping Sikitha had a lasting effect on him as well. While he is still a young elf in the prime of his life, and therefore apt to try and experience as much as he can of the opposite sex, Sikitha has become his closest confidant. Long hours were spent between Skye and Sikitha, talking about their different cultures and sharing their views. Sikitha is the only person that Skye intimately trusts, which is in part why Kyla Galanodel has a deep distrust of her.

Now fully in control of herself, Sikitha still has an affection for Skye, and also realizes that she can never go back to her old life. While Skye does his best to comfort her, she has learnt enough about surface-elf culture to know that she will never be welcome above or beneath the surface. For now she is content to follow Skye, the only person that prevents her from feeling completely lost and alone. She spends her time in pursuance of immediate pleasure, and has taken up dancing as a past-time.
